THE PROJECT
Residential
Brooklyn Brownstone House
Tucked along a quiet Brooklyn street, this recently renovated brownstone becomes the backdrop for a layered outdoor living experience. Designed for a family of four occupying the upper floors—while renting out the garden apartment—the project reimagines five distinct exterior zones: a welcoming front courtyard, a private ground-level patio, a shared backyard, two elevated decks, and a rooftop with panoramic potential.

This diagram outlines the core thinking behind the landscape design proposal, developed to respond to the unique needs of a multigenerational family while prioritizing ecological sensitivity and spatial richness. Organized as a flow chart, the graphic illustrates the interconnection between client goals, design narratives, and programmatic intentions, each supported by precedent imagery.
This tool served as both a design roadmap and communication strategy, ensuring that every intervention contributes meaningfully to a cohesive, user-responsive, and ecologically attuned urban landscape.
Layout
A garden to be shared
Sensory garden, composed of different layers that invite you to discover new atmospheres within the same space, always guided by proportion, harmony, and architectural structure.
Construction Detail B
The winter garden
A sculptural corten steel element, designed to echo the brick of the house, takes the form of an integrated staircase connecting the backyard to the owner's private deck.
Layout
The skyroom
The rooftop garden explores the notion of refuge within exposure, seeking coherence between human comfort and ecological presence. Each planted edge and open void reveals a deliberate balance between the safety of enclosure and the vastness of the horizon.
The design reclaims the overlooked rooftop as a mediating layer of the city, capable of weaving human experience into the living systems that sustain it.
